The elect of God of all centuries will one day meet at Jesus' feet...some well known and some not known at all by us, but assuredly known of God. Of the ones we have been privileged to know through their writings, be it books or letters, we sometimes find ourselves "thinking (of them) more highly than we ought"; forgetting that they were "men of like passions" as we; needing to remember" Who it was that made them to differ"; reminding ourselves that whatever they had which gave them their greatness, they received by the grace of God, as He sovereignly worked in their lives to accomplish His will through them.
In presenting biographies,
we wish to offer the encouragement to you, saint of God of the 21st century,
which will present itself in the reviewing of the providences of their
lives...(not so different than our own,) where their Great and Good Shepherd
makes His Presence known as He leads His sheep throughout their lives.
In presenting the letters written by the divines great and small, we get
a glimpse into the sanctified hearts and minds of those we seek to follow
as they followed Christ.
